Walking Meditation

Standing erect,yet relaxed,walk slowly back and forth the length of the room or better yet,walk outdoors across the backyard, along a beach ,or in any tranquil place.In addition to concentrating on your breath as it moves in and out of your nostrils,focus on the movements of your feet as they lift off the ground,stride forward and return to earth .

Ylang -Ylang Mask





(for normal or oily skin)

Ylang-ylang is indigenous to the Maya Archipelago, I noticed the women of Tahiti mixing ylang-ylang with coconut oil, and using it as an all over body rub and in thier hair.

1 teaspoon Wheatena brand cereal
1 teaspoon crushed oatmeal
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 drop geranium oil
1 drop ylang-ylang oil

Warm the honey and combine it with yogurt,oatmeal, and Wheatena. Add the essential oils and mix to make a thick paste. Spread the paste onto your face and lie down to relax. Leave the mask on for 10 to 20 minutes .Rinsse off with a tepid water.

1.Place your hand on your stomach; take a deep breath through your nose and feel your stomach expand like a balloon.

2.Exhale through your nose while pulling your stomach inward. This forcefully,expels the air, making more room for the next breath.

3. Repeat 15 to 20 times. Now you are  ready to do the posture work.

Rose Petal Bath

  The rose has always been a symbol of love this bath is the ultimate luxury and perfect for romantic evening fill the tub with warm water ,dropping in the rose oil. Sprinkle the rose petals on top of the water.Enjoy the petals floating around you as you soak.

1 to 3 cups rose petals
1tablespoon lavender flowers (optional)
1 to 2 drops rose oil

Flemish Fields Soothing Oatmeal Bath


     Oats have traditionally been important crop in northern Europe and an integral part of the cereal production system since the Middle Ages. In their triennial system of crop rotation, lowland farmers divided up arable land into three fields one containing oats,one wheat, one fallow.While the peasants needed every grain for sustenance, among the burghers of Bruges or Antwerp (Europe's most important fragrance and spice market in the sixteenth century), the ladies night have afforded themselves the luxury of an oatmeal bath enhanced with a hint of vanilla a whiff of heaven.

1 cup oatmeal (or almond-or cornmeal)
1 1/2 cup warm milk or warm water
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients in blender or food processor until smooth.Smaller particles make for a richer bath and prevent a clogged drain.Pour under running water into the bath.soak in the bath for 20 to 30 minutes.Then finish off with a cold sponge or shower.

Hot Desert Hair Moisturizing Treatment

Although its ingredient are native to the southwest, this recipe comes from Barbara Close of Naturopathica, a holistic health center in East Hampton, New York. The rich hydrating jojoba oil attracts and retains moisture.

1 tablespoon jojoba oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
 1 teaspoon avocado oil
1/2 teaspoon honey
3 drops geranium
6 drops evening primrose oil
or 2 drops carrot seed oil

Combine all the ingredients in a heat-proof bowl,and set in a partially filled pot of water over low heat. When the oils are warm . gently massage into scalp and throughout your hair. Cover with a plastic shower cap and leave on for about 10 minutes.Shampoo and condition as usual.

Rajasthan Oatmeal Hand Treatment

 This based on a recipe  acquired during my travels to northern India, where women commonly use oatmeal or almonds meal to soften thier hands.

2 tablespoons oatmeal or almond meal
1 egg yolk
1tablespoon honey
A few drops milk
r few dropss cidar vinegar

Combine all the ingredients to form a thick paste,adding just enough milk and vinegar to moisten the mixture. Apply to your hands,put on a pair of cotton gloves,and leave on overnight

Persian Honey and Yogurt Body Treatment

This wonderful body treament,rich in vitamins calcium,and protein,would please any pasha,Honey has been used in body and facial treatments around the world for centuries.I noticed while traveling that Balinese women use sweet honey as a body mask.Honey contains potassium; it softens and heals the skin,while fighting bacteria,Wheat germ is a goof exfoliant.
2 cups plain yogurt
1 to 2 tablespoons wheat germ
1 teaspoon honey
2 egg whites (for oily skin) or 1 mashed banana (for dry skin)

Combine the ingredients and apply all over the body and hair.Leave on for 5 minutes then rinse off. Conditions,cleanses, and moisturizes
